About Us

The mission of the Bangladesh–Canada Association of Sudbury (BCAS) is to serve, support, and represent the Bangladeshi diaspora community by:  Sustaining and nurturing Bangladeshi culture, language, history, and traditions, while embracing Canadian values of diversity, inclusion, and democratic participation  Helping newcomers, students, families, and seniors through community orientation, mentorship, information sharing, and social support  Establishing a Bangla learning centre for the Bangladeshi children in Sudbury.  Fostering community cohesion and intergenerational engagement through cultural, educational, recreational, and civic activities such as celebrating the Bangla New Year, the International Mother Language Day, and the Victory Day and organizing picnics and art competitions.  Encouraging youth leadership, volunteerism, and civic participation, helping young members navigate identity, education, and career pathways in Canada  Promoting social networks and building social bridges with local multicultural organizations, educational institutions, and municipal agencies in Sudbury and Northern Ontario  Promoting the social, cultural, and economic well-being of the Bangladeshi community, while contributing positively to Sudbury’s multicultural landscape  Facilitating mutual understanding and dialogue between the Bangladeshi diaspora in Sudbury and the wider Canadian society through arts, education, and community engagement
